The North Penn School District (NPSD) Board of School Directors appointed a number of principals at its action meeting on August 15, 2019 to fill vacancies in time for the new school year. The appointments include current NPSD administrators and newly hired professionals who will bring their expertise to North Penn schools.

Dr. Tomorrow Jenkins will be the principal of Pennbrook Middle School. She replaces Mr. James Galante who will now be the Supervisor of Pupil Services and the Northbridge School program.

Dr. Jenkins joins the North Penn School District from Kennett Consolidated School District and most recently served as an assistant principal as Kennett High School. Prior to her time as an assistant principal, Dr. Jenkins was an athletic director and middle school math teacher at the Abington School District.

Galante served at Pennbrook Middle School for 19 years as counselor, assistant principal and then principal for the last 12 years. With this background, Galante is an excellent choice to lead Northbridge and the school district’s pupil services including guidance, nurses and other student services.

Mr. Kyle Hassler will lead Penndale Middle School as the new principal. Hassler has been a part of the North Penn team for the last six years where he served as the principal of the Northbridge School and most recently as the associate principal at North Penn High School. Hassler has demonstrated transformative leadership skills with students and staff with regard to instruction, student achievement and school climate.

Gwynedd Square Elementary School’s principal will be Mr. Jason Bashaw who has served as assistant principal at Penndale Middle School for the past 14 years. He is well versed in data analysis, mathematics, technology and science. He began his career teaching for the Allentown School District in grades five and six teaching various subjects such as mathematics, science and social studies.

At Hatfield Elementary School, Mr. Wes Heinel will serve as principal. Heinel has served as an assistant principal since 2016 in the Jersey City Public Schools at the elementary level. During his career in the Jersey City Public Schools, he also served in other roles including an English Language Arts Teacher, Department Chair, Assistant to the Principal and Head Teacher. Heinel is well versed in technology, response to intervention and instruction, positive behavior supports, and data analysis.

Congratulations to Dr. Tomorrow Jenkins, James Galante, Kyle Hassler, Jason Bashaw and Wes Heinel on their newly appointed positions in the North Penn School District. The NPSD looks forward to working with each of them to continue to inspire its students to dream big and achieve greatness!
