Healthy Classroom Celebrations


School parties are a fun opportunity for students to celebrate. However, school snacks do not have to be all sugary foods. Healthy snacks give kids the extra energy and nutrients their growing bodies need to fuel them throughout the day. Parties can include a special treat along with other healthy food choices. Children are so excited to have a special party and fun activities that they will enjoy the healthy snacks too!

Give healthy parties a try with the following foods:

  • Low-fat milk (plain or flavored)
  • 100% juice
  • Water (can be flavored)
  • Fresh fruit with yogurt dipping sauce
  • 100% fruit snacks
  • Fruit and cheese kabobs
  • Fruit salad
  • Baby carrots & other vegetables with dip
  • String cheese
  • Pretzels or low-fat popcorn
  • Soft pretzel bits
  • Graham or animal crackers
  • Pizza
  • Sandwiches - ham, turkey, cheese
  • Low-fat pudding cups
  • Yogurt parfaits - layered fruit, yogurt and granola
  • Granola bars or breakfast bars
  • Trail mix or cereal mixes
